Beehive Physio is a child safe service with a child safety policy and code of conduct. Beehive Physio complies with Early Childhood Services Child Safe Standards

Beehive Physio has referral links with local health, support agencies and local community organisations

Services

Beehive Physio provides Physiotherapy and Early Childhood Support (Keyworker) to children in Ballarat and surrounding areas

Support may be funded through:

  • NDIS (Therapeutic Supports or Early Childhood Supports)
  • Private

Support may also include:

  • Hydrotherapy / aquatic therapy
  • Supporting transition into childcare, educational (school and kindergarten) and community settings
  • Reports/letters to support funding applications and update other health professionals
  • Equipment prescription, trials and applications
  • Coordination of supports and therapeutic intervention with other health and disability professionals to ensure a holistic, team-based approach

Support is offered:

  • In your natural environment including home, childcare, kindergarten, school and community facilities (e.g. playgrounds, pools and sporting venues)
  • With flexible service times

Biography

Liesel has a passion for delivering high quality, holistic, collaborative, evidence based, family centred and strengths based early intervention and physiotherapy support. Liesel strives to support children and their families in a way which fosters development and achieves their full potential

Liesel has extensive experience in providing physiotherapy services to people of all ages but specialises in the physiotherapy management of children. This includes the keyworker / early intervention support of those under 7 years of age

Liesel has worked in paediatrics at a number of large health networks and not-for-profit organisations across Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat and London (United Kingdom). Liesel has completed further training in many areas of paediatric physiotherapy and child development. Notably these include:

  • Family Centred Practice
  • Strengths Based Approach
  • Paediatric Bobath / Neurodevelopmental Therapy
  • Learn to Play

Liesel recognises that all children have the potential for positive development and learning. Liesel strives to understand the way in which this potential can be tapped into through a thorough assessment of each child. Learning through play is paramount in early intervention and is a core element of all Beehive Physiotherapy support and intervention

Liesel graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) in 2011. Liesel also has a Bachelor of Science (Biology) from Deakin University

Liesel is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association. Liesel has a current police check and Working with Children check.
